Sons in retirement, a Nonprofit Organization for Retired Men Promoting the Independence and Dignity of Retirement. Sons in retirement (SIR) is an organization of retired men. We have joined together to maintain old friendships, form new ones and avoid the boredom of retirement. Incorporated in 1959, the organization now has about 22,000 members in 175 branches. There are no dues, and no espousal of political, religious or fraternal organizations or the like.
